How to boot up from a USB bootable drive to install El Capitan onto a fresh hard drive on your Apple Mac. To see how to create an El Capitan USB boot disk, check out my other videos.
If you have erased your hard drive or you have problems accessing it here is how to do a clean install of El Capitan from a boot disk.
Shut down your Apple Mac
Make sure the power adapter is plugged in
And plug in your El Capitan boot disk into the USB Port
Then click the option key and the power button at the same time
When it boots up click on the USB installation Drive
It will take about 5-10 minutes to unpack
Then click Continue when the Set up box appears
And agree to the terms and conditions
Choose your Mac hard drive to install it onto
And click continue
It will take about 20 – 30 minutes to install
Once it’s installed restart your mac
Choose your regional settings
And set up your keyboard
Type in your Wi-Fi password
Say no to transferring files
Choose whether you want to enable location services
Sing in to your Apple account if you want. I’m going to do it later so I will skip that step
Agree to the terms and conditions
And then create a user account and password
Choose if you want to send diagnostic data – Click Continue
And then it will finish off installing.
Once it’s finished it will bot up to the desktop and that’s it. You’re Done
