Note from the seller on the synchro ring: "When a t-case has the brass synchro ring, where it rides on the drive sprocket is polished. On later models (where we get our kits from) the drive sprocket is not polished for smooth synchro-ring function."
I have not had any issues with it yet, but I suppose time will tell.
