Mechanical Advantage 3:1 for Tree Work
This video covers the basics of how-to setup a SIMPLE mechanical advantage 3:1 system. Building an MA system amplifies the users output and makes pulling heavy objects very simple.
Tag line is attached to the tree, or object being felled, followed by a change of direction or redirect (in more familiar terminology) is attached at a fixed anchor point.
Once the rope has been placed through the redirect, attach it back to the main haul leg via prussic, mechanical device, etc., and you have created a simple 3:1 mechanical advantage.
