Disadvantages of the VW BLF engine
Owners of vehicles with this type of engine frequently complain that the vehicle starts poorly in cold weather.
Carbon buildup can cause the intake valves, throttle body, and EGR valve to stick.
The timing chain stretches quickly and can jump after parking in gear.
Components such as ignition coils, thermostats, and phase regulators also have low resource requirements.
