Gigafactory Texas on 25 August 2023! This is where Model Y’s and Cyber Truck production happens!

Today we check out several construction areas on the greater Giga Texas property and see a lot of new progress and changes, all positive and great to see!

Possibly the biggest news of the day is the continued assembly of a large platform with equipment at the battery cathode plant east side. It is now at three levels with at least one more yet to be delivered and assembled on top. This will eventually be slid inside on rails like the other two similar platforms already completed and inside!

Some other highlights around the site include:

We get some great views into the southwest corner of the factory in the testing and training section for Cybertrucks. Today, we get a great view of an open frunk and Tesla employees doing some work in the front end of the Cybertruck.

Crews continue to install temporary wall panels on the south end of the factory where windows and concrete wall panels were removed. We can also see some interior work in this area as well, as they finish the new staircase and what appears to be some hallways. Also on the south end, we see CFA pile drilling underway again and crews making more cylindrical rebar cages for more piles!

Across the highway at the new End-of-Line facility, we see another large section of ground slab is just about ready for concrete, joining the first large section already curing. This will finish about half of the ground slab, and final trenching and pipe work is occurring on the south end of the facility. Nearby, we see trenching and concrete water pipes being installed in the new car staging and transportation lot.

The west main entrance continues to get more polished black stonework (likely granite) on the trapezoidal platform under the stainless-steel cladded beams and columns. This work seems to be progressing quickly since I first noticed the polished stonework on my previous video.

At the far northwest, Tesla Road is now being prepared for paving, with the tar spray applied where the new two-lane expansion will complete the entire roadway and terminating where the new intersection will be at FM 973. We also see some concrete work has been finished near the frontage road where the steel corrugated storm water pipe empties out. This is part of the water management system installed just along the south side of the new Tesla Road expansion.

The Megapack north end shows a lot of activity today, with form work and rebar for the capture basin around the large transformer. This is designed as an emergency measure to catch any lost or spilled oil from the cooling system and tank for the transformer. We also see more perimeter fence installation around the site and final wiring being connected on the Megapacks themselves.

At the west side of the 4680-battery cell production area, more equipment and rack mount systems appear to be in the process of delivery today, while previous deliveries are being unpacked and materials and equipment moved inside for installation.
