Problem Statement Title: SIH1572-Design/Development of an Efficient Energy Storage System (ESS) to integrate intermittent Renewable Energy sources and to support/stabilize the grid.

Abstract:
The assignment focuses on the development of innovative and efficient energy storage systems to integrate variable renewable energy sources and maintain grid stability. The project seeks to address challenges such as high costs, technological barriers, and regulatory constraints, aiming for a comprehensive solution to enhance the reliability of renewable energy integration and grid performance.

Expected Outcome:
The ESS will play a crucial role in ensuring the grid's stability and reliability, facilitating the seamless integration of renewable energy sources like solar and wind, which are inherently intermittent. By effectively storing excess energy during periods of high production and discharging it during low generation times, the ESS will enable a more consistent energy supply. This reduces reliance on fossil fuels, leading to a significant decrease in greenhouse gas emissions. In turn, the ESS supports energy sustainability by contributing to a cleaner energy mix, minimizing harmful environmental impacts such as global warming, air pollution, and resource depletion. Additionally, by promoting the adoption of renewables, the ESS helps accelerate the global transition toward a low-carbon future, ensuring long-term energy security and resilience in the face of growing climate challenges.
