A State of emergency has been declared in Florida, Alabama
As preparations begin for #Hurricane #Michael the Gulf Coast is preparing for the impacts from Hurricane Michael, which could impact the region at midweek.

A significant amount of water will be funneled into Apalachee Bay. Interests in this area should be prepared for significant storm surge flooding that potentially may range between 8 and 12 feet.

There is a chance that Michael’s forward speed may slow down a bit. This is why I got to wondering ‘what is really going on’ and I found out why below.

I will give you a hint: The current forecast track is based on a location of Michael that is too far west.

Where, when and how fast?

Right now…Michael is predicted to come ashore in the Florida Panhandle as a Category 3 storm, with winds in excess of 111 mph. Hurricane Michael’s total damage and economic impact in the U.S. will be close to $15 billion.

Michael is (at this time) going to be a faster tracking, or faster moving, system than Florence. Hurricane Florence (much like Katrina) was a very slow mover. There is no comparison here. However, what is not-as-impressive to one person can be catastrophic to another.

Where?: This is still in contention, but for now I will take this to 48 hours.
At this time somewhere between Panama City, Florida, and Apalachicola, Florida…

Flooding?
Michael will also bring the risk of flash flooding across the Carolinas later into the week’s end as the greatest risk of flooding will occur in northern Florida and southern Georgia immediately.

I always like to provide you with something you can’t get elsewhere, so each day there is another way…another more honest approach to the content. When it’s important to you its important…period. Often there are links to more details along with a direct to-the-point (my wife loves those the most) of where and when.

I leave the how bad part out. It’s all about perspective; what is no-so-bad to one person/family is horrific to another. Here, you will get the facts.

Please let me know where you are in the comments below or with my business facebook account (below) so I can make sure you get the most attention. What you care about also matters, don’t forget that either. If you have concerns with anywhere in the Gulf of Mexico now is the time to reach out. As always I give proper credit, referrals and links. If you notice I missed something please bring it to my attention and I will fix it.

Let us track Michael together. Thanks for subscribing and sharing with those in harms way.

My best to you, always
