PACING & RHYTHM - A Student ESSAY
Hi Again.
I thought i would upload this school video essay i did since it was never shown to anyone except to the teacher. This is also my first video essay ever so be nice to me :) When I was trying to get started on the project at the time I had problems really finding books or information on Pacing and Rhythm when it came to film editing, i was probably looking at the wrong place and by now there is probably some really good sources. But at the time it was tricky. While trying to start writing i could never seem to get anywhere and so this made it really difficult and made me less interested in the essay. This really made me fall behind on the deadline for the essay. So when I finally decided to keep going and finish the project, since I needed them grades. I kept looking found a few small sources and started writing. A lot of it i had to come up with myself since i did not have a lot to go by. When i finally finished the script and some of the audio, I started to edit and put some things together. Having a solid beginning I started to run into some problems, the programs started to crash and everytime I had to start or redo from scratch which became really frustrating and slowed me down since I only had so little time to try to finish it before the deadline. So kept going finally finishing like a day or two after the deadline, I did at least get my grades but was never shown to the class. So i thought i'd upload this since it was a pain in the ass. You might notice some examples to be off or a bit wrong, do to the short time and the damn crashes. Like at 03:00 which actually should be scene by scene not cutting between shots, for example one scene might take place inside a home and the next scene takes place in a moving car. Small error stuff like that, but overall i'm quite happy with the end result. It could be better but you know the story. And obviously a lot more then was cover goes in to editing and Pacing and Rhythm etc. But as i said It has It's own science and art.
