Let's create a pattern for classic briefs in 10 minutes!
We'll need the following measurements: waist, hips, seat height, and hip height (19-20 cm). You can take these measurements yourself or use the table of typical women's body sizes.
To save you time, I'll list the measurements for several sizes (from the table of size indicators for the "Müller & Son" cutting system):
Size 44: waist 70 cm, hips 94 cm, seat height 26 cm;
Size 46: waist 74 cm, hips 98 cm, seat height 26.5 cm;
Size 48: waist 78 cm, hips 102 cm, seat height 27 cm;
Size 50: Waist 82 cm, Hips 106 cm, Seat Height 27.5 cm;
Size 52: Waist 86 cm, Hips 110 cm, Seat Height 28 cm.
I use a fabric stretch coefficient of 0.84 for the width (for the volume) and 0.9 for the length (for the length). These stretch coefficients are suitable for cotton jersey with an elastane content of approximately 2%.
I'll say right away that an overlocker is not necessary for sewing panties; a regular sewing machine will do. In the video about sewing classic women's briefs, I'll explain the sewing process in more detail.
