Hello everyone, there are times when you need to recover or reset the password for a Ubiquiti UniFi controller, but the built-in functionality of the controller doesn't allow you to do this because it's impossible to send a recovery email. We suggest simply resetting the password and then changing it to a new one.
To do this, we need to download the Mongo database manager. When connecting to the local host database, change the port to 27117. In the database structure, find the "admin" user and open it in the query editor window. The "X shadow" field contains the admin password, only encrypted. We need to replace this value with a known password. Replace it and save. Everything is ready; now we can launch the controller with the username "Admin" and the password "password."

The Admin user has now been assigned a password: password
Don't forget to change it later!
If you need to work with a UniFi controller on a regular basis, we highly recommend purchasing the Ubiquiti UniFi Cloud Key.
