They say you have to start off with a firm base in life in order to succeed. For this tiny house build the time has come for me to get my posts put in so that this project can succeed. With a change from my original plan of using concrete blocks to the wood posts, I'm now all set to cut and install the wood posts. Watch as I use my Dewalt 12" mitre saw to cut the 6x6 posts to length along with some tips and tricks I use to keep things level and plumb. I also show you how I use a post preservative to safegaurd the bottom of the post from the moisture it can encounter when close to the ground. I also show you how I use a plastic barrier (thick garbage bag) between the bottom of the post and the concrete pad it sits on to further safeguard the post from moisture that wicks up through the concrete pad. With careful measurements and the use of a level, I ensure the beams are perfectly level and the posts are plumb. Well, back to work. Here we go!
