An adjective is a describing word that provides more information about a noun: what kind, how many, what colour, etc.
Position of Adjectives
Adjectives are usually placed before nouns.
Examples: a pretty dress, an empty pot, a great idea
Sometimes adjectives are placed after verbs.
Examples: • Arun looks smart in that dress.
• The apple tastes good.
• The cow appears to be old.
• The idea is excellent.
Verbs like is, be, have, has, become, get, look, seem, smell, feel and taste are placed before adjectives.
