Ancient Egypt was one of the first great civilisations, and yet today its culture seems to live only in ancient monuments. No-one builds pyramids anymore. No-one prays to the ancient gods. The Egyptians today speak Arabic and call their country "Misr" rather than its ancient name "Kemet".
