Everyone knows about the fabulous Super Monaco Grand Prix, and its sequel Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco Grand Prix 2, on the Sega Megadrive. However, around the same time a very similar game was released on Amiga, SNES and Sega Megadrive by Gremlin to celebrate Nigel Mansell winning the 1992 F1 drivers championship.

The game looks and plays very similarly to Monaco GP, but with a few subtle additions such as tyre wear and mandatory pitstop.

Here I'm playing it through on Arcade difficulty (mainly because the "simulation" mode is a bit wayward in its handling) on the Super Nintendo.

This video is the complete playthrough of the entire championship mode, all 16 tracks and game ending credits.

I'm not expecting anyone to sit through all of this, it's just a retro-look at how we raced back in the early 1990's. I'll put chapter points along the bottom to jump around at your leisure.
