At Waypoint 2025, OpenSpace Product Team Manager Michael Jones and Senior Product Manager Molly Taylor introduce a new generation of field-first tools designed for builders: OpenSpace Field powered by AI Autolocation and AI Voice Notes, plus a mobile-friendly BIM Viewer.
Michael walks through why most construction software is still designed for the back office, while the action and the cost happen in the field. He demonstrates the photo-first camera flow in OpenSpace Field, where field teams can snap a photo, add a voice note, and assign an issue in about 10 seconds, all auto-tagged to the right real-world location through Spatial AI. Field notes flow into Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) through a two-way sync, with no double entry.
The numbers from beta testing with Suffolk: documenting an issue dropped from about three minutes to about 25 seconds, an 86% improvement in speed. More than 95% of field notes had properly assigned trades, drawings, zones, locations, due dates, and a responsible party. On a complex project with over 17,000 punch items, that scales to roughly 730 hours of labor saved, or about $55,000 at the average US union labor rate of $75 per hour.
Molly Taylor introduces the new OpenSpace BIM Viewer, built for mobile and powered by a modern streaming engine that loads even large models smoothly on a phone. Field teams can create a field note directly from a BIM view, snap photos on the spot, and capture location, perspective, and 3D design intent in one step.
OpenSpace Field and the BIM Viewer are available in early access today.
