Windows 10 Support Changes That Make No Sense!
Microsoft just rolled out two big changes to its Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) program—and these changes make no sense! In this video, I break down what’s new and why these updates could be a problem for anyone still running Windows 10.
First, in the European Economic Area (EEA), customers will no longer be required to pay for ESU or back up to OneDrive. But outside the EEA, users are still forced into Microsoft’s subscription model. Even worse, Microsoft now requires users to log in with their Microsoft account every 60 days to keep ESU active—even if you’ve already paid.
I argue that these changes are unfair, coercive, and a violation of user privacy. By tying essential security updates to cloud accounts and forcing regular logins, Microsoft is pushing users into deeper dependency on their ecosystem.
