The vessel is named after Dutch naval heros
Maarten Tromp (1598-1653) and Cornelis Tromp (1629-1691) Named after two Tromps!
This Dutch Frigate HNLMS Tromp is the second "De Zeven Provincien" class frigate.
The radar at the stern can track ballistic missiles from a long range .
This vessel was commisioned into the Netherlands Navy in 2003 . 6,050 gross registered tonnes full load.
This ship headed up the Clyde with two other standy force NATO warships , taking part in NATO Joint Warrior exercise off North West Scotland . see seperate video of other vessels uploaded on my youtube channel .
