Let's create a new static analysis study.
Right-click on the part in the simulation tree, and select apply edit material.
First, let's learn how to create our own material or copy an existing one to edit its properties. Find a group, a user-configured material, right-click and create a new category. Let's name it appropriately, for example, Steel. Next, right-click on the created category and select a new material, call it Steel Z. We have created our own material, all that remains is to fill in its properties. You can also copy existing materials, to do this, find the material we need, right-click and select copy. And paste it into the category we created. Now we can change the properties.
In SolidWorks, there are materials that have the SS index, which means that this material has a defined stress-strain curve, which is available in nonlinear analysis.
In static analysis, there are two groups of materials. These are isotropic and orthotropic.
This group of materials is also specified in other analyses such as thermal, nonlinear, impact testing, linear dynamics, buckling and frequency analysis.
SolidWorks also has other types of materials - nonlinear elastic material, plasticity, superelasticity, viscoelasticity and nitinol, but we will talk about these materials in more detail when we start studying other types of research.
