The 26th World Heritage Site of Iran was registered by UNESCO as the beautiful region of Uramanat. Uraman is a historical and cultural heritage of Kurdish regions in the west of Iran.
The Uramanat / Horaman World Landscape Cultural heritage is located in the provinces of Kermanshah and Kurdistan with about 409,000 hectares of land and territory, of which 106,000 hectares are related to the area and 303,000 hectares are part of the territory.
Horaman or Uramanat is the name of historical regions with stepped texture and special customs.
According to the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, there are about 700 villages in the Horaman / Uramanat area. This region has a historical antiquity with a rich cultural background, customs and special cultural symbols, each of which shows the corners of the rich and fruitful culture of this region. The history of living in this region dates back to prehistoric times, when the discovery of Horaman deeds confirms the existence of Assyrian, Median, Achaemenid and Greek rule.
this area is very important in plant paleontology studies. A large part is a wooded area. Oak trees are the most common trees in these forests.
