🤧👃Chronic Rhinosinusitis without polyps (CRSsNP) is characterized by persistent face pain, drainage, loss of smell and congestion
✅Here are 3 ways to help in this situation:
1- Antibiotics. If having green drainage then 2 weeks of this. (May require more time depending on the case)
2- Nasal Saline Rinses: Help to clear the mucous, irritants, and debris that cause mucosal swelling to start with.
3- Intranasal Steroids: Help to reduce the swelling of the mucosa so the sinuses can drain properly.
🖐️It is important to note that this is regimen that MUST be adhered to and cannot just be used once in a while. Because the lining in the nose cannot be replaced, this regimen must be used for several weeks to months before a major change is noticed.
🏃♀️There is no quick fix to chronic sinusitis. Surgery can help increase to reach the space for the rinses and steroids to get to but they cannot alone fix this.
