On June 27, 2021, we held the opening meeting of the "Intangible Warsaw" series, presenting the ideas behind the pioneering report "Intangible Warsaw: Traditions, Customs, Practices in the Co-City" and inviting you to explore the capital in the footsteps of specific customs and traditions. We began with a meeting with the report's authors, Hanna Schreiber and Ewa Klekot, who presented the results of their research on Warsaw's intangible heritage, discussed planned further activities, and discussed the themes raised in the report. The discussion was moderated by Jacek Leociak.

"Intangible Warsaw: Traditions, Customs, Practices in the Co-City" is the first report devoted to the capital's intangible heritage. The study combines the ideas contained in the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage with the guidelines of the latest cultural policy of the Capital City of Warsaw from 2020. Both documents emphasize collaboration, community, cooperation, and co-creation, as well as contemporary issues. Intangible heritage is a way of creating culture that leverages the past to build social bonds in the present that reach into the future. The report is available on the DSH website: https://dsh.waw.pl/420-niematerialna-...
