Healthy dogs don't need ear cleaning. If this procedure is necessary, it must be done correctly. Anything entering the ear canal should be warmed to body temperature beforehand. For dogs, this is 38-39 degrees Celsius.

There are special cleaning lotions that help soften and remove debris from the ear canal. Fill the ear completely with the lotion. For a large dog, this is approximately five to seven milliliters of cleaning lotion. Next, massage the base of the ear to ensure the lotion penetrates as deeply as possible.

After this, release the dog's head, and it will naturally shake out any debris. At home, it's best to use a cotton pad to remove debris from the ear canal. Repeat this procedure until the ear is clean. Do not use cotton swabs or instruments.

Straighten the ear and lift it slightly upward to straighten the ear canal. Fill the outer ear canal with warm ear cleaning lotion.
Close the ear and massage the base to ensure the lotion penetrates as deeply as possible.
