Description:
In this video I show an addon that I developed for Blender which automatically generates multiple LOD (Level of Detail) versions of a 3D model while keeping the UV textures stable.

The tool creates a full LOD chain from a single high-poly model. It produces several optimized versions with progressively lower polygon counts that can be used directly in real-time engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.

The addon is designed to simplify heavy meshes while maintaining visual consistency. It analyzes the model’s geometry and UV layout and applies controlled mesh reduction using Blender’s internal decimation system. The process prioritizes preserving important surface features and texture alignment so that the model keeps its original look even after significant polygon reduction.

Each LOD is generated directly from the original model to avoid error accumulation. This keeps the shape stable across the entire LOD chain and prevents distortion that often appears when optimization is applied multiple times in sequence.

The result is a clean set of LOD models that can be exported immediately and used in real-time environments, game engines, asset marketplaces, or large-scale scenes where performance matters.
