How to steer a manual or an automatic car steering control?
Steering wheel:
1. Hands at ten-to-two or quarter-to-three
2. Light grip, thumbs on rim
3. Smooth flowing movement
4. Look where you want to go, let your hands follow your eyes
General advice for steering control:
1. Aim for a natural, safe steering method
2. Use both hands to steer
3. Hands at or just below ‘ten to two’ for stability
4. Thumbs on the wheel rim Light, but firm grip
5. Relax arms from the shoulders Avoid using arm rests or door for support
Your Vision should be while steering:
1. Look well ahead ‘Aim high’ with your eyes
2. Turn your head when turning right and left
3. Keep your eyes moving
4. Watch the road, not the front of your car!
5. Aim at what you want to hit
6. Focus on the spaces, not the obstacles
