Black holes are some of the most amazing and mysterious objects in the Universe. They are formed as a result of the collapse of massive stars when their cores stop supporting thermonuclear fusion. Black holes have such strong gravity that nothing, not even light, can escape from them. That's why they are called black - they do not emit or reflect light.

There are different types of black holes, depending on their mass, charge and rotation. The smallest are called micro black holes and have a mass comparable to the mass of an atom. The largest are called supermassive black holes and have a mass comparable to the mass of billions of stars. Supermassive black holes are found in the centers of galaxies, including ours.
