Learn how to create a perfect circle in GIMP from scratch. This step-by-step guide shows how to start a new project, use the Ellipse Select Tool with a fixed aspect ratio, and fill the circle with red color.
Follow these steps:
(1) Open GIMP
(2) Go to File and New, set your desired size, and click OK
(3) In the Layers panel, click Create a New Layer and choose Transparency as the fill type
(4) Select the Ellipse Select Tool from the toolbox (shortcut E)
(5) Click and drag on the canvas to draw the circle
(6) Change size of circle
(7) Check Fixed Aspect Ratio and modify dimensions of circle
(8) Go to Bucket Fill Tool and Fill with FG Color (make sure the foreground color is set to red)
You’ve now created a clean, red, perfect circle on its own layer in GIMP.
