The Flood is Coming - Noah's Ark in Latin [Classical]
Genesis 6 is the start of the flood narrative, the un-making of creation and re-making of a new era.
Humanity keeps getting worse and worse after sin has entered the world. God looks at the multiplying evil of the world and says that he regrets creating mankind. He decides to send a catastrophic flood to destroy everything he has made, but also to save a small remnant which will be the seeds of a new, different age. Noah, a man who has found righteousness in the sight of God in contrast to the rest of his generation, is tasked with the mission to save life on earth by constructing an ark to withstand the flood.
There is a longstanding debate over who the "sons of God" are in this passage. Some commentators take them to be human men, others interpret them as angels, each with historical precedent and reasonable arguments.
