Your 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee may be equipped with the Quadra-Trac I or Quadra-Trac II 4X4 system. The Quadra-Trac I 4X4 system automatically shifts power from the front to the rear. If equipped, Quadra-Trac II system allows you to place the transfer case in 4WD LOW or 4WD HI manually when traction or terrain dictate.

If your vehicle is equipped with Quadra-Trac I, this system is a single-speed, high range only transfer case, which provides convenient full-time four-wheel drive. No driver interaction is required. The brake traction control or BTC system, which combines standard ABS and traction control, provides resistance to any wheel that is slipping to allow additional torque transfer to wheels with traction. If your vehicle is equipped with the Quadra-Trac II transfer case, this system is fully automatic in the normal driving 4-Wheel Drive Auto mode. When additional traction is required, the 4-Wheel Drive Low position can be used.

The 4-Wheel Drive Low position is intended for loose or slippery road surfaces only.

Driving in the 4-Wheel Drive Low position on dry, hard-surfaced roads may cause increased tire wear and damage to driveline components.

When operating your vehicle in 4-Wheel Drive Low do not exceed 25 mph or 40 km/h. The Neutral position disengages both the front and rear drive shafts from the powertrain.

It is to be used for flat towing behind another vehicle. To shift from 4-Wheel Drive High to 4-Wheel Drive Low, with the vehicle at speeds of 0 to 3 mph or 0 to 5 km/h, the ignition switch in the On/Run position or the engine running, shift the transmission into Neutral and push the 4-Wheel Drive Low button once. The 4-Wheel Drive Low indicator light in the instrument cluster will begin to flash and remain on solid when the shift is complete. To shift from 4-Wheel Drive Low to 4-Wheel Drive High, with the vehicle at speeds of 0 to 3 mph or 0 to 5 km/h, the ignition switch in the On/Run position or the engine running, shift the transmission into Neutral, and push the 4-Wheel Drive Low button once. The 4-Wheel Drive Low indicator light in the instrument cluster will flash and go out when the shift is complete.
