I plan to use this laser in a homemade CNC laser.
I received a 5500 mW laser from AliExpress. How do I determine its power? It's probably measured in Chinese watts, as usual. The factory driver current consumption is 3 amps. Of this, the cooler draws 0.12-0.13. I reduced it to 2 amps. The total is 22 watts. Some believe the optical power is 15 to 20 percent of the power consumed. Did the Chinese manufacturer initially adjust the power so that it roughly corresponds to this ratio? The voltage at the driver output with the laser off is 5.6 volts. It seems to be a bit high and may sag under load.
