🚁🔊 ANSYS Fluent Tutorial: Calculating Propeller Noise (Aeroacoustics) 💨🎧
In this ANSYS Fluent tutorial, I demonstrate how to calculate propeller noise using the Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings (FWH) equation. The FWH equation is a time-domain method that calculates monopole, dipole, and quadrupole sources, helping you analyze aeroacoustic noise.
I’ll also explain the differences between the Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) and Large Eddy Simulation (LES) models. I usually recommend the DES model for simulations with limited computational resources because it requires fewer resources. However, if you have sufficient resources, you can use the more detailed LES model for improved accuracy.
What you'll learn:
✅ How to calculate propeller noise using the Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings equation
✅ Understand the impact of monopole, dipole, and quadrupole sources on noise
✅ Choose between DES and LES models based on your computational resources
