Prisca Stalmarski (violin) experiments with Renaissance counterpoint in a canon of her own, using the Gregorian plainchant "Ave maris stella" (shown) as a cantus firmus. For each phrase of plainchant, she composed a line of counterpoint which works in perfect canon with itself at either the fourth, the fifth, or the octave away from the original voice.
