Preparation for winter Is key to keep your trees from dying. Take the steps needed to keep yours alive and well. You don’t just spend money just because. There’s many ways depending on climate. Here I show a cheap effective way using brown tree wrap or brown paper from your local hardware store. You will use this to wrap your graft where your scion was grafted on your root stock. Then you can use heavy mulch to protect the those roots, followed by landscape fabric. The black will absorb the heat in the day and transfer the heat for late at night. Before a big freeze, you should also wet the ground a saturate it with moisture. That will also keep the roots safe as possible.
