Mixing post-punk, new wave and garage rock, the post-punk revival bands became some of the most popular bands of the early 2000s. Though the revival only last a handful of years for the most part before fizzling out, the best post-punk revival bands managed to endure and are still around today. Some bands had snazzy looks, others went for a more grungy aesthetic, but is unquestioned is that some of the best bands are known as some of the greatest rock bands.
