Hot on the heels of last year’s springy synth uplifter on Rejected ‘Call Upon Me’ – and a crucial gravity-defying EP on 8-Bit just this month – young Dutch groovesmith Franky Rizardo returns to Joris Voorn & Edwin Oosterwal’s Rejected with another timeless feel-good floor shaker.
Another stately one-track strutter, ‘Revoke’ builds with unhurried charm. First come the dignified jacking beats, then comes the snare-rattled tornado build before a slow and low ensemble unravels into that pure state of head-locked riff mysticism that Rizardo is confidently making his signature. Light-touched but emphatic and insistent, the keys and chords shimmer and punch with a classic garage feel, spiralling and entwining until the very last beat.

Rejected was founded in 2006 by Joris Voorn and Edwin Oosterwal. Together with the launch of their producers outfit Rejected they decided to start their own imprint. With the very first release, Rejected set a standard for high quality dance floor fodder. It was only uphill from there, releasing one club hit after another and signing some of the most cutting edge names in contemporary house and techno.
