How to fix avi codec error in Sony Vegas Pro 13
Foxi shows how to fix your Sony Vegas when you try to import media that is of the .avi file extension and you get an error. (Specifically Fraps footage AVI's)
Replacement Codec:
x264vfw
H.264/MPEG-4

EDIT 8-10-17:
If this didn't work you may need the klite codec pack (especially if you are on Windows XP using Vegas 11 or Windows 7 & Up using Vegas Pro 14. Klite codec packs can be found here: https://www.codecguide.com/download_k...
