Water Irrigation And Suction Used To Clear Ear Wax
In this video we see a combination of water irrigation and suction used to remove earwax. In most cases irrigation is avoided in favour of suction, however when a patient cannot stay still suction can be dangerous, particularly if the clinician is doing delicate work near the eardrum, or trying to peel wax and dead skin off the ear canal. Irrigation was used in this case at times when the patient started to involuntarily fidget, helping removed debris and soften adherences to the eardrum.
