Hello everybody, Welcome to a video session on how to arrange multiple cross-sections in a single drawing and printing all cross-sections in different sheets with one single command.
Arrange Multiple Section Drawings for Printing – Plot Ready.
One of the typical requirements while working with Section software is to print multiple sections by arranging them in different templates. Normally this process is monotonous and prone to errors. ESurvey CADD addresses this issue.
First, you need to arrange all individual sections in the drawing, depending on the media size. Media size decides a number of sections which can be accommodated in a single drawing. Typically each drawing on A3 size will have 2 Rows and 2 columns of sections, i.e., 4 Sections per drawing.
When you generate all the cross-sections of the project in the preview window by selecting the print option in tab and then selecting “CS Preview”, you may note that all the cross-sections are generated but they need to be fit into a template.
Select the Template drawing in which these sections have to be arranged. In this sample, we will select ES_A3.dwg from the “C:\ESurvey\ESurveyCADD\Templates” folder.
Specify 2 in Sections / Row and 2 in Rows / Drawing and 2 in Section in the Last row. After the values are entered, click on the “Apply” button. You can note that all the templates now include 4 Sections per template. Spacing between the sections and between the templates can be altered by giving the required variables.
Considering given parameters Single drawing will be created which will have all the sections.
Click on the ‘Drawing’ button to generate the drawing in your CAD Package.
BPS, BPFS, and BPGS
When you open the drawing in CAD Package, you can print all these cross-sections using a single command that is BPFS or BPGS available under “Print Ready” Submenu of E Survey Lisp menu.
Set of lisps under Print ready are specifically designed to print all the cross-sections in a single command. Note that all outer lines of the template that we applied needs to be in the “Plot box” layer.
You need to give BPS Command, where you can set paper size, an output device, orientation and plot style table name.
Once you have set these values using BPS command, then use either of BPFS or BPGS Command. Although both are used for printing all the drawings at a time, the difference is BPGS prints all the drawings with specified scale factors whereas BPFS prints drawing with Fit to scale setting.
Thank you for watching this video and learning printing all cross-sections with a single command. In the next video, you will learn how to export cross-section drawings as DXF in case if you don’t have CAD Package supported by ESurvey CADD.
