"Nuages" (French for "Clouds") is one of the best-known compositions by Django Reinhardt. He recorded about fifteen versions of the song, which is a jazz standard and a mainstay of the gypsy swing repertoire. English and French lyrics have been added to the originally instrumental piece. The 1946 recording is in the key of G major.
The poem "L' etranger" ("The foreigner) is the one that opens "Le spleen de Paris", also known as "Paris Spleen" or "Petits Poèmes en prose", a collection of 51 short prose poems by Charles Baudelaire. The collection was published posthumously in 1869 by Baudelaire's sister, and is associated with the modernist literary movement.
Jean Babilée (real name Jean Gutman, born February 2, 1923) is a prominent French dancer and choreographer of the latter half of the 20th century, who is also considered to be one of modern ballet's greatest performers. He is notable as the first French dancer to gain international acclaim.
