Syrian Hibiscus (Hibiscus syriacus)

The Syrian Hibiscus is a hardy shrub, native to Asia, with vibrant flowers in shades of white, pink, lilac and blue, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. It is known for its tolerance to cold, reaching up to 3 meters in height, and is a national symbol of South Korea, where it represents perseverance and resistance.

As a PANC (Non-Conventional Food Plant), its flowers are edible and can be used in salads and teas, adding value to the edible garden. In cultivation, it grows well in full sun, with regular watering and fertile soil. Annual pruning ensures harmonious growth and stimulates prolonged flowering, which occurs from spring to late summer.

In landscaping, it is ideal for flowering hedges and combines well with tropical and oriental gardens, in addition to attracting biodiversity. It is a plant that, in addition to being ornamental, brings a touch of flavor and culture to the garden.
