DOCUMENTARY | "Red Revolution" | From Prussia to Germany
World War I changed the course of history in many ways. The order established after the Napoleonic Wars was threatened by Prussia, a state trying to break free from its shell in the 1860s. Under the leadership of Otto von Bismarck and Wilhelm I, Prussia, reaching the pinnacle of diplomatic science, became a threat to all of Europe. Bismarck, known in history as the "Iron Chancellor," implemented incredible policies for the establishment of the German Empire, known in German history as the Second Reich.
In this section, you will see the beginning of the road leading to the Red Revolution, the most critical event of World War I; the steps Prussia took to unify Germany and create a single state. In the second section, we will examine how the German Empire was established, how Europe entered the "System of Alliances," and the policies of Tsarist Russia in this process.
