Here is my brand new marbled cake recipe. Every step is crucial to achieve those mesmerizing swirls without compromising the texture and taste.
The first attestation of the marble cake dates back to the end of the 19th century. Early recipes used molasses and spices to achieve the dark color. The inspiration would come from the colonization of Namibia by Germany, hence this "savannah" color, close to landscapes during dry seasons or the giraffe.
