This might be the cleanest Forza-style checkpoint system ever made inside Unreal Engine… and I built it from scratch!
Watch how I made auto-scaling checkpoints that show distance in meters — with zero widgets involved.

In this video, I walk you step-by-step through creating a full Forza Horizon–style checkpoint system.
You’ll learn how to detect the next spline point, update it automatically, reset at the last point, and spawn a 3D checkpoint that always faces the camera.
I also show you how to build the checkpoint mesh, create translucent materials, display distance dynamically, and scale the checkpoint based on how far the player is — for perfect visibility at all times.
If you’re building a racing game in Unreal Engine, this system will instantly make your gameplay feel more professional.
