Wolverine World Wide VP: Company looking at past disposal records
Wolverine World Wide, a global shoe company based in Rockford, is under growing scrutiny after drinking water wells near an old dumpsite in Plainfield Township, Mich., were discovered to be contaminated with perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs), also known as polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which were used in the Scotchgarding process to make Hush Puppies at the company's tannery.
