Witch Thief: Switch Review (also on PC, Mobile)
Playing as the Witch Thief, you will navigate though a 5-area world, seeking out and defeating other witches and wizards who have been corrupted by the power of the ancient grimoire, as you seek to steal if for yourself! Temporary invincibility and area clearing spell bombs are only a couple tricks at your disposal in this epic quest, and every boss you beat becomes a newly playable character. But between cheap shots from death beams, major game freezes, and all the faults associated with a static 3rd person view, thank Jeebus that there is a mode with unlimited lives!
Taking the classic Bullet Hell genre into a fully 3D world is no easy task, and Witch Thief unfortunate suffers the consequences. Witch Thief is one of those games that has a great concept and nearly achieves its goals, but leaves the player feeling like the dev may have bit off more than they could chew in attempting to release such an ambitious game.
