Dhaka Dynamites (often abbreviated as DD) is a franchise cricket team representing Dhaka in the Bangladesh Premier League, a Twenty20 cricket tournament. The team is led by Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib Al Hasan is the team's Icon Player. The official colors are Blue and yellow. The team has three notable players. In Dhaka Dynamites it is all rounder Shakib Al Hasan who has been on the Bangladesh national team many times. Also the wicket keeper Kumar Sangakkara. And also the fast bowler Mohammad Irfan. They are owned by Beximco, a company which produces Textiles, Basic Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, Jute, Marine Foods, Real Estate and Development.
The third edition of the tournament will begin on 22 November 2015 and will feature six teams and a tournament format with a double round robin group stage, two semi-finals and a final. The third edition of the tournament will feature one new franchise, Comilla Victorians, however all the teams will be backed by new owner, officials, and names will also be changed. Rajshahi and Khulna will not participate in the tournament. The opening ceremony will launch at 20 November 2015 at Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium and the tournament will kick off at 22 November 2015. The final will be played on 15 December . BRB Cables Limited was awarded with the title sponsorship and stadium rights for the third season.
