Emomali Rahmon is the permanent leader of independent Tajikistan. In 2020, he became the president of the country for the fifth time. And this is not the limit - the next rewriting of the constitution allows Rahmon to be elected an infinite number of times. The President of Tajikistan is called Your Excellency. Rahmon also has the official title of Leader of the Nation. Rahmon's supporters credit him with ending the monstrous civil war, which lasted for as long as 5 years.
And Rahmon's opponents ask a reasonable question: the war ended a quarter of a century ago, but Tajikistan is still in devastation and total poverty of the population.
