Hall Of Flame Fire Museum
These are some highlights from when Danielle and I visited the Hall of Flame fire museum in Phoenix, Arizona. This museum has fire fighting equipment from all over the world ranging from vehicles to helmets and everything in between. There are tons of smaller historical items such as rattles which were used to notify townsfolk of fire to various kinds of fire extinguishers and vintage hoses and buckets that once saved properties.
Pro-tip, if you want to really know the details of things, ask if Pat is in. He was full of knowledge and enthusiasm for the various exhibits and I greatly wish we had asked if he would be willing to go on camera. It brought a new dimension of understanding to the complex history of firefighting in the past and in the present.
This is a great exhibit to bring the kids to, so long as they understand that most of the equipment is to be viewed, not touched. They do have an area specifically for the kids, including a fire engine anyone can pose on for photos! Because let's face it, we all wanted to be a fireman at one point in our life.
