6/8/18 Update: Applying some lessons-learned from this video to my little gimbal rig, "Tinkering With the Gimbal":    • Tinkering With the Gimbal

If you've been paying attention to my "Junk Drawer" playlist, you've already seen a couple of tests of the cool smartphone gimbal that I received as a gift last Christmas. I finally took it to the rural countryside on a recent sunny Sunday morning to help you visit some covered bridges in a soft-spoken walking tour.

We talk a lot about imagination prompts on this channel, and we've explored many small examples that excite our minds about other times and places. But sometimes buildings and structures are great at this too, and for me, one of the most compelling sites for this kind of contemplation is a covered wooden bridge.

A covered bridge is one of the most visually anachronistic bridge types that you can find. They seem so out of place in our modern times, and in my state, they are almost always on rural county roads, providing a perfect intersection of setting and technology that is like a time machine for the brain.

Perhaps some of the folks in the "Forgotten Cemetery" video traveled through these very bridges 130 years ago...

I learned a great deal in making this little video, and I might try something like this again in the future with some historic iron bridges. I really like getting out of the house to find interesting content for this channel, so please let me know if you'd like to see more stuff like this.

This video includes the following triggers: soft speaking and slow visual movement through architectural geometry (if that's a thing ;).

Please check out my “The Junk Drawer" playlist periodically for new casual videos of behind-the-scenes stuff or extra content. Follow me on Twitter (@gaslampasmr) for additional content as well. Also, check out my interview on The Dirty Nerdy Show:    • Gaslamp  ASMR Interview
