How to decompress Apple disk images back to floppy disk:
In this video, I show you how to get Apple ][ disk image files that you have downloaded off the internet and convert them back into 5.25" disks that can be used on genuine Apple hardware rather than using an emulator which in many people's opinion is the best way to go about vintage computing.
Hardware Required:
------------------------------
PC Computer with 1.4MB floppy drive
Performa Macintosh with an Apple //e PDS card
At least one 5.25" floppy drive for your Apple //e to write your target files
Software Required:
-------------------------------
CiderPress (PC): http://ciderpress.sourceforge.net/
DiskMaker8* (Apple //e): http://www.markpercival.net/DM8/
DiskMaker8 is shareware and I encourage you to pay the $5 to Mark Percival.
I'm aware this can be done using ADTPro, but I opt for this method since multiple files can be saved onto the ProDos volume on the 1.4MB floppy and then transferred and decompressed more quickly using DiskMaker8. I also believe ADTPro takes a lot longer to move data across the serial/parallel/null modem cable than the time it takes to decompress a disk image.
