The default minimap is bad because it can hide a lot of useful information. Counter-Strike allows you to fix it with settings and console. Here is how you make your minimap so much better. The last setting cannot be found in the settings and is only accessible through the console.
Since the minimap does not give you the full information you need, we need to change how much we can see.
Here is how you can fix it:
In the settings, under GAME then RADAR, change Radar Centers the Player to False or use “cl_radar_always_centered 0” in the console. This stops the minimap from moving when move because otherwise, when you are standing on the edge of the map, the other side of the map becomes hidden. Now, when your team sees something on the other site, you can see it on your map too.
Adjusting Radar Map Zoom in the settings or “cl_radar_scale” in the console lets you control the zoom of the map. You want to zoom out as much as it takes to see the entire or most of the map.
For personal preference settings:
Radar Hud Size in the settings or “cl_hud_radar_scale” in the console changes the size of the radar on your hud. Adjust it so that you can notice details without obscuring too much view.
Radar is Rotating or “cl_radar_rotate” controls if the radar will rotate with your or not. This is purely personal preference and use what helps you orient yourself.
“cl_radar_icon_scale_min” can only be changed in the console and controls how large the icons are on the map. If you adjusted the zoom a lot, you may need to adjust the value so the icons do not obscure too much of the map or are too small to notice.
Here are the values I prefer, with a icon scale of “0.6”.

Look at the difference between the default and adjusted minimap! Send this to your this to your teammate who keeps asking where the bomb is.
